Has Your Website Turned into a Hot Mess?

Speaking of Hollywood tag lines, celebrities are more similar to your website than you think.

Celebrity ce·leb·ri·ty (Noun): a famous person. How do these people get famous? Some are caught by the media by a viral video, some have a parent in the industry and some work their duppa off only to be rewarded with stardom.

Many begin their career at a young age only to become overwhelmed by the fame as they grew older. This has become all to common in the headlines -“Disney channel character starts her fame staring in a kids sitcom, years later chops her hair and is currently singing about drugs.”

Has your quality website turned into a Hollywood Actor/Actress gone wrong?

The in and out of rehab red head, Amanda Show felon and who could forget the girl that shaved her head live on YouTube.

Each celeb experienced fame from early on in their lives. After being controlled by the media, their personalities were skewed and when given the freedom of a “regular” teen they cracked under the pressure. The fame went to their head and they started to hang out with the wrong crowds. Days, months and years later their fame tumbled and they became extinct.

How does this relate to your website?

Everything. Just like the Amanda Show Felon, your website probably exploded with fame, search results and sales, within the first few months of launch. After living the good life of Page 1 results and a large return on investment rate, you noticed your fame slowly decreasing. Rather than the media skewing your personality, Google’s Algorithm became the “mean girl” and bashed your website head on.

You slowly started to hang out with the wrong crowd, link scheming and keyword stuffing, until you temporarily received those results back. Then what happened? Someone else came in and took your place, without even warning you. (gasp, how dare them!)

How can you recover?

Just like rehab red head and the Amanda Show felon, you can’t gain immediate results and expect everything to run smoothly. Famous personalities and brand reputations take time. We know nothing good happens over night, so don’t expect overnight results from your website.

Be an original in a world full of copies, in other words, stick with your values. Make your customers happy. Practice white hat SEO and you will stay a high quality website forever, rather than fading out of the headlines.
